Russell’s athletic journey began in the world of triathlon, where he competed in prestigious events like the Mooloolaba Triathlon, which he’s raced in eight times, and the Noosa Triathlon, completing it four times. His consistent performance earned him silver medals in his age group in both events, a testament to his dedication and skill.

While triathlons helped shape Russell’s foundation as an athlete, cycling soon became his true passion. Russell has competed in the Tour de Brisbane 5 times, qualifying for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships on 3 occasions, and the Noosa Classic as well as achievements that span continents, with Russell competing in renowned events such as:

In recent years, Russell has embraced gravel riding, diving into Australia’s top gravel events like Gravelista and Seven Gravel and expanding his international horizons with a notable performance at The Traka in Girona, Spain. Gravel riding has opened up new possibilities for adventure, offering a perfect blend of performance and exploration.
